About Us
Jenkins Anthony Inc. is a Newfoundland and Labrador owned and operated employee benefits consulting company. It was founded by William K. Jenkins and Rex C. Anthony in 1991. We are committed to providing the highest level of consulting advice and administrative services to our clients of all sizes in Atlantic Canada. Our approach is to work with our clients to provide the most cost effective service on a local basis.
Our two principal consultants, Mr. William Jenkins and Mr. Daniel Breen have extensive experience in the group insurance consulting field, having worked on a national as well as a local level with some of the larger clients in Atlantic Canada.
Although services required are specific to the needs of each client, the most common services which we offer include but are not limited to:
Communication:
Jenkins Anthony professionals are fully qualified to assist clients with all types of pro-active communication methods including booklets, personal benefit statements, interactive meetings with employees, information bulletins, audio visual material, etc. The success of a program is largely determined by the understanding of the employees of the benefits provided and we are able to assist our clients with the development of an effective communication strategy.
Benefit Administration and Record Keeping:
Our firm provides these services for many clients of various sizes. Our staff has extensive experience in all aspects of benefit administration.
Contract Interpretation:
Jenkins Anthony provides advice on contract related issues and complex claims problems.
Flexible Benefits:
Jenkins Anthony consultants have the expertise to explore the merits of introducing a "flexible benefits" program for employers. These programs have been the topic of debate during the past few years and interest on the part of clients is at an all time high.
Benefit Trends and Legislative Requirements:
The pro-active services provided by Jenkins Anthony enables our clients to keep abreast of trends within the industry whether it be the reserve requirements for retiree programs or a trend towards providing different benefits or levels of coverage than those currently made available to employees. Jenkins Anthony consultants also ensure that each client is fully aware of any pending changes in legislation that would necessitate a policy revision or consideration of same.
Benefit Policy:
Jenkins Anthony assists our clients to ensure the benefit program operates in a manner consistent with other corporate directives through development of a clearly defined benefit policy.
Disability Management:
With disability costs becoming a more significant issue amongst employers, it is necessary to develop policies that clearly outline the benefits to the employee and the requirements of the employer. It is also important that these fit appropriately with the insurer's contractual obligations under the disability programs.
Employee and Family Assistance Programs
Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EFAP) provide various counselling and personal assistance programs to employees and their covered dependents. An increasing number of employers have implemented EFAP programs as part of their employee benefit programs. There are many varied approaches to these types of benefits and our firm has assisted our clients in determining which of these programs best fit their needs, and managing those on an ongoing basis.
Market Surveys:
Our firm has completed periodic market surveys for all clients. Our approach to these is to ensure that potential insurers have complete and accurate information so that the proposals received are as accurate as possible. We encourage the involvement of the plan sponsors and any internal committees in this process to ensure the final insurer selection is made with the best fit for the client.
